La Dinette is a bustling café in the heart of Muswell Hill. It's very relaxed and friendly, with welcoming staff and a spacious lay-out that manages at once to feel light and open, but not cold. Coffee comes from Campbell & Syme and is well done in the standard array of espresso-based drinks, but the real strength of La Dinette is its ambience and food.

Owner Claire Jury is an expert when it comes to creating sweets and pastries, and the macarons are worth a visit alone. The savoury food is also excellent, with a sumptuous cheese sandwich particularly standing out, along side a good range of other light lunch options. Even the side salads show a degree of care and attention that's often lacking. Informal, chatty, with good vittles and good coffee, La Dinette is a perfect drop-in spot and well worth a visit.
