Market Lane
Shop 73-76, Deli Hall Queen Victoria Market, Queen Street Melbourne VIC 3000
Editor's Review
In the Deli Hall of Queen Victoria Market, your senses are constantly engaged – it goes without saying that in the best markets, there’s always a buzz. The sight of all the fresh produce, meat, dairy, poultry; the sounds of all the chatter, spruiking of vendors, buyers trying the best to haggle or try; smells of cheese mongers, cured meats, herbs and spices – of all the above and, Market Lane coffee.
Among the vendors, inside what looks a grand vintage Viennese tram with its gold-lined window frames and hanging lights, mixed with New York subway style tiled walls, you can treat your tastebuds: espresso blends with their silky milk, single origins for blacks and on rotation, an option of three, sometimes four lighter roasted coffees for filter via pour-over. You can also enjoy a refreshing spritz!, a double shot of espresso (your choice of which) concocted with Fever Tree Tonic Water. There is also an option delicious cold brew with a recipe allowing for drip over ice. Treat yourself to either before you head back into sensory overload.
