This micro-cafe attached to Metric's coffee roasting works feels more like a tasting room than a full cafe—that is until the nicer-weather months (Chicago does have a few), when the front doors swing wide open and bring the inside out and outside in, coffee lovers spilling onto the sidewalk and cementing this small company's community feel. Inside the sleek, geometric blonde wood cafe space is a treasure trove for those who care about coffee, though. If you're not too busy peering through the windows in the roastery, you can browse the various nitro cold brew taps, selection of Metric beans and gear, and various nerdy brew methods. It's not a place for computer work or a (very long) first date, but it's worth a visit for any coffee-curious Chicagoan passing through this largely industrial part of the west side. (Do note that as they primarily serve the local community and serve as an adjunct to the roastery, the cafe closes in the early afternoon, and is closed on Sundays.)
