Moko Made
211 Kingsland Rd, E2 8AN
Editor's Review
This is one of London’s most charming cafes. In an age where it’s rare to find a truly independent café, Moko Made delights with its vintage crockery, home-cooked Japanese food, Japanese teas and superb Vagabond coffee. It’s a credit to Tomoko-san’s skill that she coaxes such lovely expresso from the inauspicious, anonymous espresso machine that she has wittily decorated.
Delicious home-made cakes and Japanese sweets, onigiri rice balls, miso soup, a daily dish of the day – all are great and made with home-style love. Teas, as you might expect are very good – and imported from Japan. Tomoko’s art is on sale inside and the walls feature regular exhibitions by such as renowned ceramicist and visual artist Aki Moriuchi. We’d certainly recommend you visit this cute café and enjoy its quality and its charm.
