Mrs Atha's
Central Rd, Leeds LS1 6DE, UK
Editor's Review
Mrs Atha's is firmly established as an institution in Leeds city centre, as a well known venue for getting away from the manic shopping streets close by.
Whilst its name suggests a twee countryside tea house, it is actually a thriving venue, with all of the design hallmarks of classic Parisian café.
Despite it narrow appearance from the pedestrianised Central Road entrance, the café is cavernous in its interior, stretching way back and into relaxing surroundings, filled with leather chairs and quiet corners for book reading.
The coffee offering belies its location and understated exterior face, with constantly changing guests blends from across the world available through a variety of brewing methods. However, the biggest charm of Mrs Atha's arguably lies downstairs in their basement, which allows the opportunity to enjoy your coffee away from street level in low light, but still with plenty of bustle from the nearby open kitchen.
