Peckish
49 Willoughby Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205, USA
Editor's Review
The perfect wee neighborhood coffee spot exactly where one should be – on a tree-lined street leading to one of the borough's best dog-friendly parks – Peckish has risen in sunny orange from the ashes of what once was the inscrutable WTF Coffee Lab.
An outpost of Clinton Hill food mercantile Pecks, Peckish serves up Brooklyn-roasted Joe Coffee alongside beyond-the-basics cafe treats like a zucchini-kale-gruyere scone, or a pear-tahini frangipane. Small sandwiches are also available (how do they offer so much in such a tiny space, literally tucked underneath the stairs to an upstairs apartment?) as well as cookies and even a currywurst roll. Peckish is a festive, but cozy little spot that feels truly genuine – a nice energy in the competingly confused and sometimes cookie-cutter world that much of Brooklyn has become.
