Pelicano (The Level)

This second outpost from the excellent Pelicano team occupies a spot on the corner of The Level, an award winning rejuvenated park behind St Peter’s church. There are a few tables in the stylishly stripped back interior, but the real draw is the sun drenched benches outside. Takeaways are available for parents being dragged to the fountains or play park.

The house roasted Smokey Bird espresso blend works well with milk - rich and choclately with a bit of acidity, though limited fruity notes. Coffees are picture perfect, served on attractive rough hewn wooden boards with real care taken over the latte art. There are also jars of loose leaf teas to choose from and the counter is laden with delicious cakes, served in huge, towering slabs.
