The corner of Spadina and King Street West has seen a lot over the years. And the heritage building that still stands there proudly has experienced its fair share too. What was most recently a popular and well-known backpackers' hostel recently transformed into a fusion of Quantum Coffee and Brainstation, a global leader in digital skills training.

In the café, the large room is divided into two spaces. One side is the service bar filled with delicious-looking pastries and takeaway drink options as well as a retail shelf containing retail beans and brewing equipment. Once you have ordered, drinks are prepared and served at the other side on a coffee bar filled with some extremely impressive equipment. If two Victoria Arduino Black Eagle espresso machines and five Nuova Simonelli Mythos Grinders weren’t enough to get you excited, Quantum has one of only two Poursteady pour-over coffee machines in Canada. The other one just so happens to be located at their second location in Vancouver, BC. 

If you are looking to sit and enjoy a longer experience, a throughway connects Quantum to its neighbour, Brainstation. This cavernous, communal, multifunctional room acts as both a workspace for the tech company and building tenants as well as extended seating for the café.
