Raffles has been a favourite coffee and cake spot in Preston for well over a decade, and it continues to have a loyal and satisfied customer base.

Situated within the St. George's Shopping Centre, it gets most of its custom from passing shoppers looking for a rest, and coffee and cake break. However, given its reputation in the city as a reliable go-to place, it also pulls in caffeine hunters from outside the shopping centre.

The re-development of the centre has helped the café to continue, but the quality of both service and produce ensures that it is able to continue despite a number of chain cafés inside the centre and in the nearby streets. Something of a throwback in terms of design and décor, the friendly welcome and chilled surroundings means that it remains an enduring gem.
