Relish
4-6 Commercial St, Edinburgh EH6 6JA, UK
Editor's Review
Located in the fashionable Shore area of Leith, deli-cum-cafe Relish is a spacious, reliable spot that really celebrates the best in Scottish produce.
Relish has recently expanded its operations, having outgrown its previous location two doors down from where it currently sits, which it called home for nearly a decade. The expansion has greatly increased the amount of seating, separate from the deli area, and created a far more tranquil, lounging environment more conducive to sitting in. Relish also now put a lot more focus on Scottish produce, as local as possible - preserve makers That’s Jammy, based just down the road, supply jams and marmalades; Au Gourmand bakery provide the bread; and Glasgow roastery Dear Green supply the beans, with what’s on offer changing seasonally – it’s worth noting that Dear Green’s decaffeinated blend has a real strength, and feels far from a concession. The cheese counter is always well stocked too, again with a focus on locally sourced cheeses - try some Isle of Mull Cheddar.
The Shore has a really different feel from the rest of Edinburgh, the European architecture and Water of Leith rmore eminiscent of Copenhagen or Amsterdam. Relish feels right at home, and is well worth a visit.
Tables can be reserved for meetings - call ahead.
