Ritual Coffee at Flora Grubb Gardens

This location of Ritual Coffee is a hidden café gem. The roaster-retailer was founded in 2005 and was one of several roasters to introduce specialty coffee to the Bay Area. It now operates a number of cafés around the region and takes pride in collaborating with local companies and artists.

Tucked between warehouses, Flora Grubb's garden center houses a large variety of flora and a Ritual Coffee kiosk. Instead of rows of potted plants, Flora Grubb designed the building and its open patio to be an immersive, peaceful experience. 

After selecting your drinks and pastries from the full menu, you have an option to sit at the 3-seat bar and chat with the barista, wander outside to various table groupings, or find a secluded bench. Since Flora Grubb sells most of its furniture, every visit will have a different feel and experience. The few constants are a patio featuring a large succulent wall and tables set up on the back of a flatbed truck. 

A visit here will have you simultaneously enjoying your coffee while tempting you to bring a houseplant or two home.
