Ritual is one of San Francisco's oldest specialty coffee companies and it's easy to tell at any of their locations why the brand continues to thrive. The stores are all bright white and red without any of the rustic touches that give many other shops an unearned sense of authenticity.

Ritual's cafés are pleasant places to get coffee, and their Haight Street store is one of the best examples of a quaint and friendly coffee shop. The coffee here is reliably good; one should never turn down an opportunity to enjoy a shot of their Sweet Tooth Espresso, a rotating single origin coffee that represents the best they have to offer.

Ritual also prides itself on being a positive workplace, so great customer service is the standard. The best move here is to sip that espresso slowly as you peer through the fog at nearby Buena Vista Park.
