Room Ten
10 Llankelly Pl, Potts Point NSW 2011, Australia
Editor's Review
Room Ten are a study in compact café economics. Service works smoothly and quickly here despite the Lilliputian space - inside, the team stand shoulder-to-shoulder along the open kitchen and coffee production line. On a sunny day, customers happily line the laneway outside, soaking in some sunshine whilst waiting for their morning takeaway or a table to free up. It's casual, but professional at its core.
Due to its location in an affluent suburb and near community services, the café caters to a true cross-section of locals. Owners, Andrew (barista) and his partner Yuvi (chef) prioritise simple products done well, and often prefer to take a DIY route with their menu - for example, they have recently launched a delicious line of bottled iced teas and cold brew coffees, complete with Room Ten branded labels.
Coffee is handled with a lot of care, as rotating single origins are served with attention to detail. Try an espresso served in a beautiful Magnolia Mountain ceramic cup, or one of Andrew's famous bottled iced coffees if you're on the run. If you're lucky enough to snag a table, treat yourself to a mammoth beef brisket toasted sandwich or a trout salad packed with flavour.
