Second Shot Coffee

Second Shot is a coffeeshop and a social enterprise, aiming to bring people together by tacking homelessness. The project, led by Julius Ibrahim, will employ and train homeless people for six months at a time, helping them reintegrate back fully into society.  All staff will be paid at least the London Living Wage. It makes sense that Second Shot would have a ’pay it forward’ system allowing customers to prepay for food and drink for those in need.

 

The aim is to provide quality coffee, food and drink under head barista Emilio and Second Shot will rotate roasters –initially using Cast Iron for espresso and Origin, North Star, Square Mile for filter (v60, chemex and aeropress). They place great emphasis on working with local producers who share a social and philanthropic ethos such as The Kettle Shed, The Dusty Knuckle, Luminary Bakery and Rise.
