Society Café
Kingsmead Square, Bath BA1 2AB, UK
Editor's Review
The beautiful Society Café, tucked onto the edge of the picturesque Kingsmead Square, has a friendly, lively feel to it and is well worth a visit for its coffee and the lovely seating area outside. High-ceilinged, with plenty of seating, it's an ideal spot to catch-up with friends and enjoy a really considered, thoughtfully put-together café experience.
The central space is occupied by a well-designed, angled bar with a striking blue customised Linea PB and there's space to wait for a take-away without crowding other customers or feeling do yourself. There are quieter areas to each side and downstairs and, of course, the terrace seating.
The coffee is mostly from Origin, but guest roasters include The Barn and local company Round Hill. There are dairy alternatives in the form of soya and almond milk. Food is limited to sandwiches and cakes, but they are good and a decent size.
With local artists on the wall, local coffee in the grinder, and situated on a vibrant town square, Society Café is definitely part of the fabric of Bath's coffee scene but well deserving of a visit from further afield too.
