Spring For Coffee
548 S Spring St #106, Los Angeles, CA 90013, USA
Editor's Review
Spring For Coffee doesn't bother much with the internet nowadays. Lacking a website and bare social media presence, this hole-in-the-wall gem doesn't feel the need to re-establish its strong presence, already in full effect in Downtown LA. Spring for Coffee opened in 2009 in the city's Historic Core District, long before the area revamped itself as a night life destination, let alone a specialty coffee destination.
Despite its tiny quarters, you'll have a lot to look at when you step into this funky steampunk spot. A gleaming chandelier hangs from its ornate Art Deco ceilings, and exposed piping and black walls contrast these elements for an overall casual yet fun atmosphere. Spring For Coffee is a multi-roster café offering myriad beans to choose from, but rely primarily on Coava Coffee for their mainstays. Rotating selections are available on Bee House drippers, but a standard drip coffee is always available and ready, along with a small selection of bagels and pastries for snacking.
Whilst indoor space is limited to standing room only, take a seat on their patio to people watch and pet some pups—this spot has been a long-time favorite for neighbors to bring their dogs to caffeinate and chill.
