Station Coffee House
Station House, Bridge Road, Prescot L34 5SY, UK
Editor's Review
Station Coffee House is based inside the sold station building, as part of Prescot Station in Merseyside. The café itself is split over two levels – the ground floor, which serves as a quick stopping point for those in need of a quick caffeine fix before making a train, and an upstairs area that serves a lunching point in historic surroundings.
The atmosphere of the café meets both aims well, as its proximity to the station means that coffee lovers are less likely to buy a chain coffee in another station and there is no disruption to their journey. Its larger seating area also serves as a meeting point for local people, and those with more time to kill before the train, to enjoy a coffee and lunch and overlook the train line. Prescot station is based on one of the busiest train routes in Northern England, with easy access to both Liverpool and Manchester from the area, as well as further afield to Yorkshire and the North East.
