The Eclectic Collection
575 Garratt Ln, London SW18 4ST, UK
Editor's Review
A visit to The Eclectic Collection is like leaving Earlsfield and stepping into a forgotten old curiosity shop. ‘Eclectic’ is certainly the right word to describe this place where the hardwood floors are decked with a miscellaneous miss-match of furniture – oldy-worldy Chesterfields sit opposite modern transparent chairs, while fashion photography hangs on the walls under the stern gaze of a Queen Victoria bust.
The food and drink menu is just as diverse and intricately decorated with flavour as the focus, but the highlight is definitely the experimental lattes: a ‘superfood’ latte that contains bioactive blue algae and amino acids; an activated charcoal latte with Persian date syrup and a choice of almond or oat milk; a double espresso topped up with rose-infused milk. The turmeric, honey and black pepper latte is also surprisingly moreish. The extensive tea menu, presented in a bound hardback book, includes a range of flavours and eccentric loose leaf tea – such as their signature ‘Blue Potion’ tea – is also available.
