The Specialty Coffee Shop
Nottingham, 50 Friar Ln, Nottingham NG1 6DQ, UK
Editor's Review
The Specialty Coffee Shop is arguably the most well placed coffee shop of all, in terms of being in the heart of Nottingham’s touristy bits.
Based just to the north of the city centre, on Friar Lane, it is set in impressive surroundings and very close to Nottingham Castle, Museum and Art Gallery as well as the famous National Justice Museum.
The café has a long narrow thoroughfare right through the main floor, with big windows at the front, which allow light to come right the way through the café - whichever quiet corner you may have found for yourself.
Simple and rustic coffee is well balanced with homemade on-the-counter sweet treats, which are made in house as a specialty of the café.
The food menu is perhaps a little light, but the focus here is more on enjoying a coffee with a small snack, or a dessert.
