Tilt
2, City Arcade, Union St, Birmingham B2 4TX, UK

Editor's Review
Tilt, tucked away down a side street but in close proximity to Birmingham's retail centres, is lovely. Gently washed with pastel and grey hues, and with a wood-finished bar and rich, woody furniture, the whole venue is calming and chilled, helped by a slight lack of natural light from the café's position. There are craft beers, pin-ball machines (and a league), plenty of space to work or meet friends, and the staff are friendly, chatty, and knowledgable.
Coffee comes from a variety of roasters, including Gardelli, Talor and Jørgen, and Da Matteo, as well as a few more standard names – it's really good. Filter is served only as a batch brew, and, of course, espresso-based drinks are available. Food options are limited to cakes and a few pastries, but this is place is about the coffee, the beer, and the vibe. And for those, Tilt is a must-visit.
Please note – in the evenings, Tilt morphs into a specialty/craft beer venue and coffee is usually served until 7pm or 8pm, but it depends on demand and so we can't provide exact hours.
