Twelve Triangles
90 Brunswick St, Edinburgh EH7 4AQ, UK
Editor's Review
Twelve Triangles is the one with all the donuts in the window. Before you see the royal blue paint, and the artsy, geometric logo, this is what you’ll notice – a whole shelf of beautifully filled, sugary donuts. It is impossible to walk past and not get one.
Since opening in March 2015, Twelve Triangles’ sourdough bakes have begun to pop up in cafes all over Edinburgh, but this tiny nook of a café just off the controlled chaos of Leith Walk is their home, and it feels like it. Plants hang from the walls, people come and go buying their bread for the day, and the smell of brewing coffee hangs pleasingly in the air.
Twelve Triangles' artisanal approach to baking is mirrored in their coffee choices. Glasgow staples Dear Green ensure their decaf option isn’t a concession, while a selection of the best of Edinburgh’s roasting scene makes up their espresso and batch brew filters – you’ll find Fortitude, Obadiah Collective, and Chipp all on rotation, and available to buy.
