Upper Left Roasters

Upper Left Coffee Roasters is a brilliant and welcoming café that crafts not only coffee but an experience that patrons will enjoy. Upon entering the establishment on the left hand side you will see the Proaster with which they hand roast their coffee. Their roasting mentality is to try and not get in the way of the coffee and thus they tend to produce more light to medium roasts depending on the beans.

The space was designed and built by Fieldwork the oregon white oak pairs especially well with the exposed concrete bringing about a pseudo industrious feel. The front counter is centrally located and immediately apparent when walking through the doors. A seemingly other wordly Star Trek-esque device, the Acaia Orion doser, is seen resting on the counter—a testimony to a café that cares highly about precision and quality.

Upper Left is located on the corner of Ladd’s Addition (hence the name) which is Portland's oldest planned residential development, and one of the oldest in the western United States!
