Coffee Guide to Somerville, MA
To the North West of Boston, in the space not filled by Cambridge, you'll find Somerville. One more the more densely populated cities in New England, Somerville is also a culinary destination for the greater Boston area and now home to some exceptional coffee.
Revival Cafe+Kitchen
In a freestanding building painted arrestingly black with white letters, Revival opened on the southern edge of Davis Square in early 2019. The black-and-white theme continues inside with attractive Moorish-style tiles by the register and bar. The second cafe for this Somerville brand (its first is at Alewife, one stop farther out on the Red Line), Revival freshens up the coffee landscape in the Davis Square area.
3 Little Figs
In a compact space on Highland Avenue, 3 Little Figs channels a Greek island vibe with bright whites and blues, including the handsome blue cups in which it serves Counter Culture coffee
Forge Baking Company
Owned by Tucker Lewis and Jennifer Park, Forge and its siblings Bloc and Diesel make up a family of giants: huge, warehouse-like cafes where there is always a seat to be had. Eldest sibling Diesel, opened in 1999, has long been the go-to cafe for Somerville’s Davis Square.
