Coffee at Home Setup Series - Jamie Koller

For coffee lovers everywhere, the ritual of making coffee at home has never been more important than in recent times. If you are a coffee aficionado, there is something really comforting about taking the time to make a nice pour over.

We have seen a huge increase in the number of people sharing their coffee ritual and home setups on Instagram. One of those that really caught our eyes was from @i.am_jamie. So much that we reached out to him to know more about his kit.

My name is Jamie, I'm from Cape Town South Africa. I'm a digital marketer/fashion photographer/fellow coffee lover. I have been home brewing for the last two years, however, my home brewing journey fast-tracked during lockdown. With the additional time, I used home brewing as a creative outlet and fully immersed myself in this technical yet creative world of coffee. I managed to connect with many new coffee friends via Instagram and have been learning a lot along the way.

Currently, I am really enjoying the African coffees from one of my local roasteries, specifically a naturally processed coffee from ethiopia. My favorite brew tool of choice is the Hario V60 for sure! I have found this method to be helpful in highlighting the nuance in each coffee, resulting in a clear and complex cup. I contrast this brew tool with an Aeropress that enables me to bring out more of the oils in the coffee. I have been enjoying brewing the same coffees with these different tools and analysing how different each cup tastes with each method. Im super excited to learn more about the world of coffee and can't wait to travel again to visit new cafés!
