In essence, the OPAL One is a capsule machine designed specifically to brew speciality coffee capsules. It was developed in conjunction with Maxwell Colonna-Dashwood, who is a three-time UK Barista Champion, founder of Colonna Coffee and Peak Water, and a pioneer in speciality coffee pods in the UK.
The coffee pods shipping with the OPAL are also from Colonna, part of their Bartender Series, a landmark collaboration with award-winning author and mixologist Tristan Stephenson.
The coffees in this range are carefully selected single origin beans, showcasing an intense espresso beverage — bright and complex with a full-bodied intensity — that also pair with all major coffee-based cocktails. It’s quite simply one of the best coffees we ever had in pods!

Ethiopia (Fruit)
Sourced from Ethiopia; Rocko Mountain is naturally processed Ethiopian coffee from the Gedeo Zone. Beans are handpicked and left to sun dry with their cherries still intact – resulting in bold fruit flavours including strawberry, peach and blueberry, and strong aromatics.
Designed to pair with an Espresso Martini or a more classic Vodka Espresso.
Indonesia (Earth)
Sourced from Indonesia, where coffees have natural deep earthy characteristics; Mandheling #1 from Sumatran producer Koperasi Permata Gayo has been processed using a local method designed to enhance these unique flavours.
This coffee is herbal and sweet with a mild spice backbone. Designed to pair with agave-based spirits.
