Coffee Roaster Introduction: Pact Coffee
Best Coffee's roastery guide is a compilation of the very best, tried & tested coffee roasters from around the world. We’ve hand-selected a small collection of amazing coffees for you to sample. Not all coffees are created equal, and not all coffees make it into our shop. So we’re starting a series of articles shining a light on our chosen roasteries to explain why we picked them for your drinking delight.
Where: Based in London, but delivering all over the UK
Who: A subscription-only roaster with a variety of interesting and unusual coffees to try.
Since when: 2012
Why: Pact are great because they make high-quality coffee easily accessible for so many people. Raising the profile of pour-over brewing, their coffee subscriptions have options for all tastes and preferences.
What’s the story: Pact focus on bringing specialty-grade, quality checked coffee direct to your door. They believe coffee is worth a little extra effort and only source through direct trade, meaning coffee becomes not only a viable career choice, but a profitable one.
We source via Direct Trade, and know exactly where our coffee comes from - We have long standing relationships with farmers, returning to the same farms to buy more coffee year after year. The farmers get the security of a sale and we get coffee that keeps getting better due to the training and investment we give them. We have done extensive work with the Asomuprisma Women's Association, promoting gender equality in coffee, and are members of the Partnership for Gender Equality
Our favourite coffees:
Notes of rich plum and milk chocolate are supported by a silky mouthfeel, gentle acidity and a caramel sweetness. This balance leads to a deliciously long walnut aftertaste.
