The aim of Colonna is to set up a roasting and sourcing company which, “curates and presents incredible coffee”. Not only does Colonna want to roast fantastic coffee but they also want to make it more accessible for you to brew and produce better quality coffee at home. Their goal is, “to think big, to wonder how good coffee can be, to wonder how we can innovate to achieve this.” Colonna has taken over the role of barista for you taking care of grind, weight and temperature, all in an oxygen-free environment.

The Bartender Series, created by award-winning author and bar owner Tristan Stephenson, alongside Barista Champion, Maxwell Colonna-Dashwood, utilises coffee pods technology to deliver an exceptional coffee for exceptional drinks. You can read more about the range here.

Indonesian coffees are known for their natural deep earthy characteristics. Normally this wouldn’t be my go to choice for a coffee but this one has a sweetness that makes it a very interesting coffee pod and a nice change from normally going for the fruitiest or funkiest coffee available. This coffee is sweet with a really mild spice and would work really well with agave based spirits.
